Child psychological services – Behavioral Assessment

Behavioural assessment (BA) is a psychological product of the second half of the twentieth century whose development has been closely related to behaviour modification and behaviour therapy and, like them, has taken place in clinical settings. The behaviour of the child is assessed by observation, talking to the child, talking to the parents/teachers or other significant adults around them and also to siblings if any. Once the problem behaviour is identified, then the Psychologist comes out with a plan for behaviour modification that is appropriate to the situation.
