Pre-reading and reading skill training
Pre-reading skills have a significant impact on a child’s reading and understanding later in life. Children who learn to read earlier have a significant advantage over their peers. Reading skills are correlated with success in later life. A child’s ability to hear and manipulate the sound he has heard is called phonological awareness and Pre-reading skills contribute to this awareness in the child.
Children whose reading skills have not developed beyond five years of age can still be offered remedial course and brought back to the mainstream.
