Speech and language therapy – Oro motor stimulation

Oro Motor Stimulation is given to children who have issues with either feeding or speech. The parts of the body involved in this therapy are the lips, tongue, cheeks and the jaws. The child is made aware of the parts first, then through exercises, strength and endurance is built into these parts. Then the child is taught to coordinate the parts  and then proper movement is encouraged. The professional who deals with this therapy is the Speech language pathologist or the Occupational therapy.
