Speech and language therapy – Pragmatics disorder

Pragmatics Disorder is also referred to as social communication disorder. Pragmatics refers to the use of the language in a social context. A child suffering from Pragmatics disorder may not know the difference between using language with another child and an adult. It may not understand the context in which different words must be used.  PD of SCD is diagnose based on how the child responds to others, how she uses and understands gestures like pointing, how she expresses her emotions and how focused she can be on the topic being discussed.
